But the GM ran a bunch of different groups on different days in the same world. So I might play one character with one group on Mondays, and a different character in a different group (with about 50% player overlap) on Thursdays, and there were also multiple other groups going on, some of which included players in my groups and others who didn't.

Everything happening affected the world, we'd hear stories, swap villains, have heroes leave groups and six months later join a different one. We had a big yearly crossover issue that would run 12-16 hours straight with over a dozen players and twenty characters (often including several simultaneous combats in different parts of the world that by the magic of comic books all happened to have "Phase 12!" occur at the exact same moment.).

So it was a shared world that lasted for decades (actually, it's still going on but I haven't been part of it in over a decade). But is that a "single campaign"? I could argue either way.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15303429111849946437noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2465863144787683153.post-60502980329552531832015-08-17T13:56:11.298-04:002015-08-17T13:56:11.298-04:00I think that Champions is one of the few RPG's...I think that Champions is one of the few RPG's I could play for a long period of time, as in years.

Five hours a day, five days a week? That's like a part-time job. I know Champions can bog down in combat, but that's a lot of material to be constantly cranking out.WQRobbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17436898737750581192noreply@blogger.com
