As a matter of fact, it may be this single...Nor I.<br /><br />As a matter of fact, it may be this single element more than any other that is the genesis for my dislike of modern medieval fantasy, especially of a D&D flavor.<br /><br />Everything seems to be labeled, categorized, given it's position in the ecology. We know exactly what a spell can and can't do down to how many feet it's blast radius is. <br /><br />Yet somehow Science Fiction gaming is second or even third tier compared to Fantasy. Why? Aren't you already playing a Scientific game? Certainly doesn't seem like you're playing a Fantastic one. <br /><br />I for one advocate adding the mythical, the fantastic, the legendary and the folkloric back into fantasy.
