It is Christmas. I am feeling very merry and hope you are feeling very merry as well.
And there will be Muppets. So...
Merry Christmas and Joy to the World
from Barking Alien!
Today I will be running a session of The Muppets Role Playing Game for some friends and I couldn't be more excited, or more nervous. This is my first time running it outside of a convention/event atmosphere and my first Christmas themed session.
That's right ladies and gentlemen, it's a Muppets Christmas Special RPG!
Cross your fingers for The Muppets Crisscrossed Christmas!
Well gang I gotta run. Have a wonderful day, drink some eggnog, open some presents and remember those less fortunate than yourself.
Peace on Earth (and elsewhere) and goodwill toward all.

ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas,
ReplyDeleteFeliz navidad y año nuevo!
Does one "roll up" a Muppet or does one play Kermit or Gonzo, etc.?
ReplyDeleteWhen I have run the game at conventions the players have played the known Muppet characters, from famous classics like Miss Piggy, Gonzo and Anima,l to the lesser knowns like Dr. Teeth, Sweetums and Robin, all the way to the obscure such as Uncle Deadly, Big Mean Carl and 80's Robot.
DeleteThe game is set up so that, much like a Muppet puppeteer, each player performs multiple Muppet characters.
Kermit has been off limits for most of my games, reserved for the Director (GM/Me) so as to facilitate the game more easily.
The game mechanics do include rules for building (as opposed to 'rolling up' - since 'building' is the term the Muppet Workshop uses for constructing a new puppet) an original character.
See the entire month of March, 2011 for the rules and ideas on running my Muppets RPG. It's the project a polish website called, "Kreatywne i trochę przerażające".
I have no idea what that means.
;)
Heck, I'd play Dr. Teeth anytime. He's crazier than Dr. John.
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun, hope it went well!
