RPGaDay Challenge - Day 1

There is a thing going around this August called the RPGaDay Blogfest.

In my mind, it's the perfect way to celebrate my 37th year RPG gaming anniversary, to be officially commemorated on August 25th.

Consider this bandwagon jumped on.

Day 1 - First RPG Played

The first RPG I ever played was Basic Dungeons & Dragons. I would later come to learn it was what is referred to in circles of fans of that game, 'Holmes Basic', or some such thing there.

    I know your origin story BA but it's still weird to see that image on one of your posts knowing how you feel about the typical D&D game. Not a criticism, just a comment.

    I sometimes think of it like those big Hollywood movie stars who started out doing TV commercials. I am not ashamed of how I entered the hobby, and quite pleased with where I've gone with it.
