I have no idea.
I'm serious. I can't recall the most recent purchase I've made.
The main factors that contribute to this (not counting swiss cheese memory) are:
No money. Finances are waaay to tight these days to make more than a minimal amount of entertainment purchases.
Most of the RPG purchase I make these days, rare as they are, are PDFs. PDFs are forgettable. It's not that the products are forgettable mind you, it's that when I download a game I don't often remember the purchase. When I go to my FLGS, talk to the staff, get into a conversation with another customer about Japanese folklore, and come home with a physical book, I remember it.
Very few companies are making anything I want.
That last one is big.
Produce a game I am interested in, on a subject I like, you can be all but guaranteed I will purchase every last book you put out.
I have every officially licensed Star Trek RPG item ever made by all the companies that made stuff. I own all the Decipher, CODA System books for example, even though I don't use that system. It's Star Trek. I will buy it.
With no games currently in production for Star Trek, DC Comics, Marvel Comics, and no new Mekton products (although a new edition is on the way), the gaming industry is really helping me save money.
Thanks guys.

Go with "most recent RPG somebody gave you!" ;)
ReplyDeleteHeh. For that I have you to thank.
ReplyDeleteRecently received another copy of Teenagers from Outer Space and a replacement for my long lost, Mekton compatible, Jovian Chronicles book from my friend Rob here. :)
